Eastern Michigan University in 2013 created a class titled ARTS 490W Capstone. This class was meant to teach the graduating seniors in the BFA program the fundamentals of being a working artist. The final exam for the class was to have a gallery showing of the student’s finest work. Each student in the class was given a role in preparing the show. I was selected as the graphic designer for the promotion material.

The title of the show “uncapped.” is not only a reference to our class title being “Capstone” but also functions as a pun that refers to our graduation caps we would soon be wearing. It was important for me to reference the blatant humor in the title of show. Using illustrations of representing our various concentrations I was able to visualize the pun that comes from the title.
